नवरात्रि का समय था। कृष्ण जी और गणेश जी मिलकर मां दुर्गा की मूर्ति बनाने में लग गए। गणेश जी दूर दूर से मिट्टी लाते हैं और कृष्ण जी पानी लेकर आते हैं। फिर दोनों मिलकर हाथों से मिट्टी गूंथते हैं और मूर्ति बनाने लगते। कुछ दिनों की मेहनत के बाद एक सुंदर सी मां दुर्गा की मूर्ति तैयार हो गई। फिर गणेश जी बाजार से रंग लेकर आए और कृष्ण जी ने बड़े मन से मूर्ति को रंगा। धीरे धीरे सारी तैयारी पूरी हो गई और मां दुर्गा की मनमोहक मूर्ति बनकर तैयार खड़ी थी। लेकिन कृष्ण जी उदास हो गए। किसी ने जय श्री कृष्ण नहीं लिखा है।
