If you pour liquid cement into an anthill, it flows down the main tunnels and fills the chambers. Then the ants will try to escape through secondary tunnels, but the cement blocks every exit one by one. Now the ants get trapped in air pockets deep inside, unable to reach the surface. Some survive for days in sealed chambers, feeding on dead larvae in complete darkness. And as the cement hardens, it creates a perfect mold of the entire underground city.
चींटी के टीले में तरल सीमेंट मुख्य सुरंगों से बहकर कक्षों को भर देता है। फिर चींटियाँ द्वितीयक सुरंगों से भागने की कोशिश करेंगी, पर सीमेंट हर निकास बंद कर देगा। अब चींटियाँ अंदर हवा की जेबों में फँस जाती हैं, सतह पर नहीं पहुँच पातीं। कुछ बंद कक्षों में कई दिन जीवित रहते हैं, पूर्ण अंधकार में मृत लार्वा खाकर। और सीमेंट सख्त होते ही पूरे भूमिगत शहर का सही साँचा बन जाता है।
