Today, we're going to set up ActiveCaptain on your compatible mobile device and pair it to your Garmin Marine Chartplotter. For this process, you will need a SD or microSD card, chartplotter, and a compatible mobile device. Chartplotters can have different maximum card sizes. Please refer to the link below to determine the appropriate card size to use as your ActiveCaptain memory card. It is recommended to purchase a microSD card that comes with a full-size adapter. This will allow use with any device. We are going to perform this process on a compatible Apple device and GPSMAP chartplotter, but the steps are similar on compatible Android devices and other Garmin chartplotters.
