No atmosphere, no weather, no volcanoes, and barely any gravity to hold onto anything interesting. But that's the problem. Mercury isn't acting like that. Right now, it's giving off something strange, something we weren't even looking for. New images and data are showing gases leaking from its surface, glowing chemical tails stretching behind it, and now for the first time, traces of lithium in its exosphere.
