To find a way to safely store the high-level radioactive waste accumulated over half a century since our country's first nuclear reactor, Kori Unit 1, in 1978, a research facility for underground disposal of spent nuclear fuel was built in Daejeon. It's called KURT. So I went to visit the research site myself.
