AI Video Translator, Localization, and Dubbing Tool

Try it out for Free

You can dub video directly inside Claude Code by installing the Perso Dubbing plugin. Paste one line into Claude Code, then ask it in plain language to dub a folder or a YouTube URL. It translates, dubs, and lip-syncs across 99+ languages, separates voice from background audio, and organizes the output by language — with dubbing minutes drawn from your existing Perso credits. The same plugin also runs in ChatGPT, Cursor, and Gemini.

What is the Perso Dubbing plugin?

The Perso Dubbing plugin is a skill you install into Claude Code (and other AI agents) so you can dub video through plain conversation instead of a separate app. You point it at a folder of videos or a YouTube URL and describe what you want — "dub these into Japanese and Spanish" — and the agent handles upload, translation, dubbing, and file organization.

Under the hood it does four things most manual workflows require separate tools for: AI dubbing across 99+ languages, lip-sync, voice and background audio separation, and SRT subtitle extraction and translation. Perso Dubbing runs on the ElevenLabs V3 voice engine, so dubbed audio keeps a natural tone rather than a flat text-to-speech read. Because it lives inside the agent you already use, there is no new interface to learn.

How do I install it in one command?

You install Perso Dubbing in Claude Code by pasting a single instruction that points Claude at the plugin repository and states what you want dubbed. Claude Code reads the repo, sets up the plugin, and runs your first job in the same turn.

github.com/perso-ai/perso-dubbing-plugin — install this, then dub the videos in my folder into English.

Prefer a platform-neutral setup, or using ChatGPT, Cursor, or Gemini instead? Run the package directly with npx perso-dubbing (requires Node.js 18+). You will also need a Perso API key, which you generate from your Perso account. Dubbing minutes are billed against your existing Perso credits — installation itself does not charge anything. Windows users need Git and Node.js 18+ installed first.

How does it dub a whole folder at once?

Perso Dubbing processes an entire folder or a YouTube URL in one request, rather than one clip at a time. You give it a source location and a target language, and it splits long videos automatically, dubs each segment, and merges them back — then saves the results in per-language folders next to your originals.

Two features make large batches practical. First, resumable checkpoints: if a long job stops, it continues from the last saved point instead of restarting. Second, voice and background separation: it isolates the spoken track so it can replace the voice while preserving music and ambient sound. This is the difference between dubbing three test clips and localizing a full content library. Everything runs conversationally — you can ask the agent to add a language or re-run a segment without touching a timeline editor.

How many languages does it support?

Perso Dubbing supports AI dubbing in 99+ languages and speech recognition in 100 languages. The dubbing figure is how many target languages you can output a video into; the speech-recognition figure is how many source languages it can transcribe before translating.

In practice, that means you can take one source video — say, an English tutorial — and produce Japanese, Spanish, Korean, and dozens of other dubbed versions in a single batch. Subtitles come along automatically: the plugin extracts SRT files and translates them alongside the audio. For creators publishing to global audiences, the constraint is usually your credit balance, not the language list.

What does it cost to run?

Perso Dubbing uses your existing Perso account and credits, and charges only for the minutes you actually process — there is no separate subscription for the plugin itself. If you already run dubbing jobs in your Perso workspace, this is the same per-minute pricing applied inside the agent.

The one added requirement is a Claude paid plan, since installing and running plugins in Claude Code is a paid-plan capability. If you would rather not depend on that, the npx perso-dubbing route and the ChatGPT, Cursor, and Gemini integrations give you the same dubbing engine without it. Because billing is per minute rather than upfront, you can validate the workflow on a few short clips before committing a full library.

Does it work outside Claude Code?

Yes. The same plugin runs in ChatGPT, Cursor, and Gemini, and you can run it standalone with npx perso-dubbing on any machine with Node.js 18+. The dubbing engine, language coverage, and per-minute billing are identical across all of them — the only thing that changes is which agent you type your request into.

This matters for two reasons. If your team standardizes on a different AI assistant, you are not locked out. And if you build automated pipelines, the standalone package lets you wire dubbing into scripts and scheduled jobs rather than a chat window. Choose Claude Code for the one-line conversational setup; choose the standalone package when you want dubbing as a step in a larger, repeatable workflow.

Manual localization versus in-agent dubbing

Before, localizing a video meant opening a dubbing app and uploading one file at a time, re-running the process for every language, and handling lip-sync and audio cleanup as separate steps. A failed job meant starting over.

With Perso Dubbing inside Claude Code, you paste one line into the agent you already use, point it at a whole folder or a YouTube URL, and get 99+ languages in one batch. Lip-sync and voice and background separation are built in, and any interrupted job resumes from its last checkpoint.
